A: Yes. While Dr. Renée is a licensed physician and can prescribe medications as necessary, we tend to use prescription medications very rarely and only as a last resort or a bridge. When appropriate and necessary for your treatment plan we prescribe compounded medications from our partnered accredited 503A compounding pharmacies.

We also frequently recommend and prescribe supplements when needed.

We do not change medications prescribed by other doctors.

A: Yes, certain treatment plans require recent lab work (within 90 days months).

Costs for blood work and specialty tests are NOT  included. All labs must be ordered through our practice - we only review outside lab results on a case by case basis. Ordered testing will not be billed through insurance but can be paid via credit cards or FSA/HSA.

Most of the Functional Labs that are ordered in our practice are more comprehensive than labs you may have had before and are not covered by insurance. Lab prices can range from $400 – $800 per lab panel

The costs for laboratory testing are set by the labs themselves. We have made every effort to secure the best rates at the most advanced laboratories. After payment for your lab tests is made to our practice, we can provide itemized bills/receipts for your records. A: The majority of our treatment plans utilize specialty functional medicine labs that require direct payment via credit card or FSA/HSA.

While we occasionally use standard labs that can be billed through insurance at local facilities, this is extremely rare.

Patients should be prepared that the required testing will be specialty labs requiring out-of-pocket payment.

A: Labs within the last 90 days can be used in some instances.

We cannot guarantee that you won’t need new labs based on your lab values and the biomarkers that were ran previously.

  Most of our preconception patients, even those facing persistent infertility, usually achieve natural pregnancies that result in healthy, live births. For those patients that are not able to achieve a natural pregnancy, we will continue to support you as you work with a fertility center. For local patients, we are happy to recommend fertility clinics that have served our patients exceptionally well in the past.

  At Eterna, we do not offer complete obstetric care but we will work closely with your obstetrician or midwife to closely monitor you throughout your pregnancy and to help you recover fully after delivery.

A: Initial consultations are range from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the enrolled program, with monthly follow-up sessions typically 20-30 minutes, allowing time for thorough discussion and personalized care planning

A: We require 24-hour notice for cancellations. Additionally, appointments must be confirmed 6 hours before the scheduled time, or the unconfirmed appointment spot will be opened to another patient and you will have to reschedule with the rescheduling link.

A: Treatment frequency varies based on your individual needs and goals. Typically, we begin with monthly sessions, adjusting as needed throughout your care journey.

A: We use a HIPAA-compliant telemedicine Electronic Medical Records platform. Once you become a patient, you will receive secure login credentials with simple instructions to protect your privacy and streamline documentation.

A: New patients can schedule an initial consultation session with Dr. Renée through our online booking system. We'll send necessary paperwork to complete before your first visit. Once you become a patient you will have access to our HIPAA-compliant patient portal where you have the ability to schedule all your follow-up consultation visits.

A: Your initial consultation includes a comprehensive review of your health history, current concerns, goals, and the development of your personalized treatment plan.

A: The benefit of telemedicine visits is that you can show up in your pajamas or whatever makes you comfortable for our encounter. The intake questionnaire is required to be completed at least 48 hours before your visit. That gives us adequate time to review the information provided and prepare appropriately for our virtual face-to-face visit.

Compounding pharmacies are safe options for patient for customized medication regimens when they adhere to stringent quality and safety standards. At Eterna Vitality & Wellness^TM, Dr. Allen is highly selective in choosing compounding pharmacies, ensuring they are both highly regulated and adhere to strict safety and efficacy standards. These pharmacies are chosen for their commitment to quality and precision, providing safe and effective customized BHRT medications tailored to meet the unique needs of our patients.

All of Eterna compounding pharmacy parternships are with compounding pharmacies that are accredited by organizations such as the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) and follows guidelines set by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP).

These pharmacies customize medications to meet individual patient needs, and when properly regulated, they provide a valuable service. Specifically, Eterna compounding pharmacies provide are safe and regulated 503A pharmacies - which are licensed by state boards of pharmacy and 503b pharmacies - which are registered by the FDA.

Both types of pharmacies are regulated by the FDA.

The compounded BHRT medication products offered at the Eterna VitalRx Wellness Dispensary™, accessible exclusively to current Eterna patients, are made using FDA-approved active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

However, it is important to note that compounded products themselves are not FDA-approved.

Pellets are a form of hormone administration that involves the pellets being inserted into the gluteal muscle via a metal trocar (tube) after a small incision is made in the skin. The pellets are left there to release their contents into the body. They can contain different hormones but they most commonly contain testosterone or estradiol.

Something important to remember about pellets is that bioidentical hormone molecules cannot be patented: but the delivery method can.

While pellets may be a viable option for those going to space, war, or prison, they are not an optimal delivery method for those wanting to achieve a steady state of hormone levels in their body. Part of utilizing pellet therapies means accepting that several times a year your levels will fall as the pellets wear off, and your previous symptoms of suboptimal hormones will return to some degree.

Rather than subject our patients to a roller coaster that regularly sends them back to feeling how they did when they started, we opt to utilize only methods that allow us to find your optimal levels, and then stay there for as long as you take them.


Most Eterna male patients opt for cream or injections performed at home, and female Eterna patients have the option of a topical cream or home injections as well. 
Some brands of pellets contain inactive ingredients that have been associated with long term health problems, and because of how they must be inserted into the body, pellets always carry the risks of infection, scarring, nerve damage, and even the body rejecting the pellets and pushing them back out of the skin.

Once pellets are inserted, there is no way to modify the dose being released or the levels in your blood. If the dose ends up being too high, there is nothing that can be done, unless you want to get a general surgeon involved, take more pharmaceuticals, or simply suffer until the pellets wear off.
